Information for media
Authorized spokespeople
To ensure the most effective, accurate information is provided, and
to prevent confusion and potential misinformation, the Emergency Operations Control Group
will designate authorized spokespeople who are responsible for:
- releasing information to the public and the media
- providing information through the MUN web, email and phone systems
- conducting interviews with media or arranging media interviews
The director of Marketing and Communications or a designate will
have responsibility for managing communications in a crisis. This
includes designating authorized spokespeople and liaising with
public information officers in other agencies.
Media Centre
In the event of a large-scale crisis, a Media Centre will be
established in a safe location. This site will provide for the
accreditation, coordination and briefing of the media.
