AE test setup:

Acoustic emissions are monitored during the drill-off test. Four Panametrics P-wave sensors are placed symmetrically around the cylindrical rock sample. The central frequency of P-wave sensors is 1.14 MHz with working bandwidth from 0.65 to 1.63 MHz at -6 dB attenuation. Four PAC 2/4/6 preamplifiers are then utilized with 20 dB gain for amplifying signals. Analogue signals are sampled at 10 MHz by one CompuScope 8280 A/D board.
