Funding and Scholarships

 

Financial Package for M.Eng. and PhD Programs

Memorial University offers competitive financial packages to academically eligible full-time graduate students, both Canadian and international. The value of the financial package for an eligible student is:

M.Eng. – minimum $18,000 dollars per annum
PhD – minimum $22,000 dollars per annum

Entrance Scholarship for Canadian Students enrolled in MASc. Programs

Entrance scholarships will be awarded each year to new students who enroll in MASc. programs and are permanent residents or Canadian citizens with an undergraduate degree from a Canadian university. A maximum of two students for each MASc. program may be awarded this scholarship. This scholarship may not be awarded every year. The value of this entrance scholarship is $5,000 dollars per student.

In-Program Scholarships for MASc. Programs

The top two ranked students in each MASc. program after the first 2 or 3 semesters will be awarded in-program scholarships. The scholarships are valued at $2,000 and $1,500 Canadian, respectively.

Scholarships for Mexican Students by FUNED and Memorial Engineering

Memorial Engineering holds an agreement with the Fundacion Mexicana para la Educacion, la Tecnologia y la Ciencia (FUNED) to co-sponsor Mexican students enrolled in a thesis-based Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) program at Memorial in the disciplines of Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Ocean and Naval Architectural Engineering, Oil and Gas Engineering, and Process Engineering.

The agreement aims at attracting top Mexican students to pursue graduate studies at Memorial Engineering.

FUNED will provide scholarship not exceeding USD 30,000 per student based on the results of FUNED's needs evaluation of each student and other criteria. Memorial Engineering will provide a minimum of CAD 16,000 per student admitted to the thesis-based Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) program.

The value and duration are for a maximum period of two (2) years.
