Prevention and mitigation on campus

Prevention and mitigation refers to strategies implemented to decrease the impact of a potential emergency. The university completes a hazard analysis to determine the highest ranking threats and therefore put in place appropriate prevention and mitigation strategies related to these threats.

University departments/units are expected to complete a Continuity Plan which identifies essential and time critical services which will need to be maintained during an emergency therefore lessening the impact.
