Procedure(Including Assessment Strategies)
 

• Ask the students what they thought about when they hear the word “network”. Some answers could be TV networks, computer networks, transportation networks, a network of friends, etc
• Hand out the A-mazing challenge(start/stop at the same place and cover every road just once)
• Hand out the House plan (start/stop in the kitchen and go through every door just once). Is there any room at which you can start and stop and go through every door only once?
• Hand out the first definition sheet and discuss the sheet.
• Hand out the Hiking trail worksheet (real life problem), start/stop at G. Can you cover each edge only once and up back at G?
• Hand out the Security Guard worksheet (real life problem), start/stop at A. Can you cover each edge only once and up back at A?
• Hand out the Mailman worksheet (real life problem), start/stop at F. Can you cover each edge only once and up back at F?
• Discuss the difference between each of the three examples. Direction is toward discovering even and odd vertices.
• Hand out the second definition sheet and discuss.
