Structural Geology and Tectonics
Structural geologists work out how and why rocks are deformed by Earth stresses. We work on the large structures of mountain belts and also on microstructures seen in mineral grains. Working at the larger scale, we study the processes that drive plate tectonics.
The following faculty members have research projects in structural geology and tectonics.
