Biography

Attended University of Western Ontario from 1972 to 1977, graduating with an Honours B.Sc. (1975) (Gold Medal Award) and M.Sc. (1977). Awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship - left to take up a Ph.D. with Dave Green at the University of Tasmania, Australia. Following completion of Ph.D. spent 2 years at Max Planck Institut fuer Chemie in Mainz as a postdoc with Al Hofmann. Came to Memorial University as a University Research Fellow, eventually ending up as a tenured Associate Professor in 1993 and a Full Professor in 1997.
