On the day of convocation

Family and guests should arrive with the graduating student. Guest tickets are provided to the graduate to distribute about an hour prior to the ceremony. Seating for guests is on a first come, first served basis and doors to the theatre will open one hour prior to the ceremony.

Each ceremony is about 2 hours in duration. 

Parking at the Arts and Culture Centre

Parking is limited at the Arts and Culture Centre on the day of convocation. Parking for graduates, family and guests is free and available in the front parking lots facing Allendale road. It is recommended that you arrive at least one hour prior to the start of the ceremonies to secure parking. Carpooling and taxis are recommended.

Parking towards the back of the building is reserved. There is a parking attendant who will direct you away from this area. 

Accessability at the Arts and Culture Centre

The Arts and Culture Centre is wheelchair accessible. Please contact the Arts and Culture Centre head usher at 729-3650 if any guests attending require assistance on the day of convocation. Inquires regarding accessability and accomodations for graduating students only can be directed to the Blundon Centre at Memorial University. 


Accomodations on campus are available for Spring Convocation. Please contact the accomodations office at for further information or to book online.

Gifts for graduates

The St. John's Campus Bookstore will have a booth at the Arts and Culture Centre, available will be an assortment of memorabilia for this special occasion. Apparel and other items can also be purchased online or call (709) 864-8084 to place orders for rings.
