Visiting Speakers Travel Fund

Established through an initial anonymous gift of $25,000, The Chemistry Visiting Speaker Travel Fund has the purpose of providing funding to assist well-known chemists to visit the MUN Department of Chemistry to deliver a departmental, university, or public lecture. The speakers will be selected by a committee consisting of the Seminar Coordinator and Deputy Head (Graduate Studies & Research) who shall regularly solicit suggestions from faculty and the student societies. Administration of the fund is in accordance with the University's policies and practices

2011 Visiting Speakers

Dr. Phillip Jessop from Queen's University will discuss Switchable Chemicals for a Greener Oil Industry on October 20th.

2012 Visiting Speakers

Dr. Michael Haley from the University of Oregon will speak at the department in the winter of 2012.
