Experiential Learning

Learn by Doing

In its simplest form, experiential learning means learning from experience or learning by doing. Experiential education first immerses learners in an experience and then encourages reflection about the experience to develop new skills, new attitudes, or new ways of thinking. E learning at Memorial takes many forms, including co-op placements, internships and service-learning events such as Make Mid-term Matter.

Beyond these more traditional approaches to experiential education, CDEL also provides consultation and support to faculty who wish to incorporate experiential methodologies into their curriculums so as to provide students with unique and innovative learning opportunities.
