Dr. Bernard S. Jackson, O.D.H. (1933 - ) was trained on farms, game reserves, and nature reserves in England and Scotland. When Dr. Jackson came from England to Newfoundland in 1958, he served on the Wildlife Park Advisory Committee and was instrumental in the formation of the Salmonier Nature Park. Dr. Jackson recognized the importance of the boreal forest, a dominant feature in our ecosystem, and used it as one of his teaching tools.
