BERNARD S. JACKSON SCHOLARSHIP

The Bernard S. Jackson Scholarship was established by the Friends of MUN Botanical Garden to encourage an interest in horticulture amongst eligible people from the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The scholarship was established in honour of the Garden's first curator/director, Bernard S. Jackson.
 
2008 UPDATES:
 
The terms and conditions of the Bernard S Jackson Scholarship have been recently changed in two important ways: 
  1. The scholarship, of up to $500 annually, is now open to horticultural students (or potential students) who were born in the province but currently reside elsewhere, as well as those residents of Newfoundland and Labrador.
  2. The duration of the scholarship, which formerly could be held for up to five years, has been restricted to a maximum of two years.

Applicants must follow the Bernard S. Jackson Scholarship Application Procedure and Criteria.
 
The deadlines for applicantion are January 2 and April 1 of each calendar year.
Bernard S. Jackson was the Curator / Director of MUN Botanical Garden from its inception in 1971 until his retirement in 1993.
