Celebrate Biodiversity Day at MUN Botanical Garden
May 22, 1 – 3 p.m.

The Ocean Sciences Centre's marine public education program (PEP) is visiting MUN Botanical Garden on May 22, 1 – 3 p.m. and presenting an interactive and interpretive activity "Come and Explore the Ocean Creatures".

Features of the program will include a touch tank, where visitors can experience a never-ending variety of local marine invertebrates and a Harp seal video presentation. Marine interpreter Danielle Nichols will be on hand to answer questions and explain current research initiatives at MUN's OSC facility.

Admission: Free
Registration is not required. Everyone welcome!

The United Nations proclaimed May 22 the International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues. This is a day to reflect on the state and value of biodiversity. The theme for 2012 is "How Much Life is in the Sea?"
