Methionine metabolism in Neurospora

Synthesis of the amino acid methionine in haploid Neurospora involves four genes on four separate chromosomes [top] that make four separate enzymes that act on a precursor (homoserine) and three downstream metabolities.

Homework: a met-5- mutant is crossed with a met-3- muutant. Would you expect any of the offspring to grow on minimal media? 

Homework: Would you expect any of the offspring to grow on minimal media if Cysteine were added?
