African clawed frog, Xenopus laevis (Pipidae)

Mating in clawed frogs involves pelvic amplexus. The smaller male grasps the larger female from behind, in front of her hind legs. The female sheds eggs (small black dots visible in the photo), which are fertilized by the male as they are released.
