Ötzi the Iceman

Europe's oldest known mummy was discovered in September 1991 in the  Ötztal Alps near the Austrian / Italian border. His remains have been dated to ca. 3300 BCE

Genetic analysis showed Ötzi to belong to the Y-chromosome subclade G, and mtDNA subclade K1, although in both cases he is not assignable to to any extant subtype of either clade.
