A 1 Kt Enhanced Radiation (ER) tactical warhead would deliver a dose of 80 Gy to an armoured tank crew at a range of 690 m, and a lethal 6 Gy dose at 1100 m or 1350m to unprotected foot soldiers. Such weapons have been described as "Capitalist Bombs", because the lethal radiation kills people, but has minimal heat and blast effect on structures, as compared to conventional nuclear weapons.

    Neutron irradiation of steel armor can render it dangerous for 24 ~ 48 hours. If a tank were exposed to a 1 kt neutron bomb at 690 m so as to kill the crew, the tank would remain intact but a replacement crew would receive a lethal dose of radiation within 24 hours.
