Trajectory of the frequency f(A) of a
neutral allele
(fA(0) = 0.01, N = 100)
In the absence of selection, the frequency of any
allele is subject only to random genetic drift. From initial
f(A) = 0.01, f(A) drifts to as high at 0.17 in
Generation 30 before going to loss f(A) = 0.0 in
Generation 62.The trajectory is random: careful inspection
would show that positive and negative changes of f(A)
in any generation are about equal.
