Karyotype condensation in muntjacs

Diploid chromosome sets of two species of muntjacs, small southeast Asian relatives of deer (Moschidae: Artiodactyla: Mammalia) (A) Muntiacus reevesi (2n=46) and (B) Muntiacus muntiacus (2n=8). Despite differences in chromosome numbers, the species are phenotypically very similar.
