Martha Chase (1930 - 2003) and Alfred Hershey (1908 - 1997)

Hershey, along with Luria & Delbruck, received the 1968 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for their work on bacteriophage genetics. Chase went on to receive a PhD in bacterial genetics.
