Halibut vs Cod
Genetic differentiation of Flemish Cap fish: Turbot versus Cod

Genetic distances among Greenland Halibut populations are unrelated to geographic distances; the population in the Gulf of St. Lawrence is most distinctive. In contrast, Atlantic cod from Iceland, Norway, and the Barents Sea are significantly differentiable from those in the western North Atlantic. However, with the exception of fish on the Flemish Cap, an offshore seamount region, cod in the western North Atlantic are not differentiable into distinct stocks.
