DNA-dependent RNA Polymerase

RNAPol I is said to be 'DNA-dependent' because RNA synthesis [light blue strand, with newly-synthesized 3' end] requires a DNA template strand [dark blue ribbon]. Unlike DNA synthesis, RNAPol I does not require an initial RNA primer.
