"Star Phylogeny" of Atlantic Cod (Gadus
morhua) mtDNA genotypes
Phylogenetic relationships among 50 mitochondrial
cytochrome b haplotypes in Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua). A
majority-rule consensus diagram is shown: numbers on branches indicate
the percentage occurrence of that branch in all trees of minimum
length. Genotype A is the majority genotype in all populations examined
from the Northwest Atlantic (mean frequency >70%): most variant gentoypes
differ from it by a single nucleotide substitution (Figure 2 of Carr &
Crutcher 1997).
