Aminoacyl Synthetase recognition

The Aminoacyl Synthetase binds both the anticodon (top) and the amino acid acceptor (bottom) and attaches the appropriate amino acid according to the Genetic Code. The exact mechanism by which this recognition takes place is uncertain, and has sometimes been described as a "second genetic code".

Homework: In the drawing, note the sequence of the anticodon and the amino acid on the acceptor stem: are they correct? Why or why not?
