Implicit Attributes

Unless indicated otherwise, the following attributes are implicit throughout the descriptions, except where the characters concerned are inapplicable.

Leaves simple. Blades herbaceous; without auricles; not septate nodulose. Leaves not lobed. Leaf margins, degree of incision 20–25%.

Flowers in inflorescences. Inflorescence terminal; without involucral bracts. Calyx herbaceous. Petals present; without contrasting markings; not tipped with an awn-like bristle; longer than the calyx. Nectaries in bisexual flowers absent. Fruit glabrous; styles style may persist until dehiscence but is not modified.

Distribution. Northern hemisphere: Canada.
