Violaceae, violet family.
Notes. Stemless, the leaves and peduncles arising directly from the slender, thread-like rhizome. Leaves cordate-ovate; petals white with purple veins. Moist turfy places under willows. Labrador-Ungava,west tos. Keewatin, Manitoba south to upland parts of eastern United States.
