Cost of living
St. John’s, Newfoundland offers graduate students a high quality of life due to some of the lowest cost of living rates among all capital cities in Canada.
A single full-time Canadian or Permanent Resident master’s student can expect to pay $13,820.09 a year for university fees, books, accommodations, meals.
A single full-time international master’s student can expect to pay $14,480.19 a year.
The estimates below are provided to give you a sense of how much it may cost to study and live at Memorial.
All figures are approximate. The exact figures can vary significantly depending on your lifestyle and needs (e.g., cooking at home versus eating out, taking public transportation or walking versus owning a car, sharing a house with roommates versus living alone in an apartment), and you may need less than the figures below if you live economically.
Due to relocation costs, your first few
semesters as a graduate student may be more expensive than
normal.
For graduate diploma and PhD students, simply
replace graduate tuition with the appropriate per-semester program
fee based on your immigration status multiplied by 3 (3 semesters
in an academic year)
