Arts alumni
Successfully off in all directions
Graduates of Memorial's Faculty of Arts (Social Sciences and Humanities) find life takes them in amazing directions.
In recent decades, over 26,000 people have graduated from
Faculty of Arts (Social Sciences and Humanities) programs, and have
gone on to make significant contributions in Newfoundland and
Labrador, across Canada and around the world. That’s a lot of
success stories.
Our graduates work in museums, in advertising, in tourism, or in
public and international relations.
Newfoundland & Labrador Premier Danny Williams has a BA from
MUN. So too do many talented members of the media – Bill
Rowe, Steve Bartlett and Pam Frampton, who write for The
Telegram, Audrey Whelan at VOCM and Krista Rudofsky from CBC's
Living NL, to name just a few.
Memorial arts grads go on to study for careers in law, education, medicine, nursing, speech pathology and psychology. Some win literary awards, others form governments or practice law.
They become entrepreneurs, teachers and publishers, and they police our neighborhoods.
In short, our graduates become a force for progress.
