Commentary for Whitney's Choice of Emblemes

For now (December 1996) we provide commentaries only for those emblems with some kind of relationship with the emblems of Alciato. The correspondences are given in our introductory list of Whitney's emblems.

English translations of the Latin titles in Whitney are also provided in the same list.

When we have time, we hope to put up commentaries for each of the Whitney emblems, including a) translation of title, b) source, c) all marginal material, d) brief explication.
