Ex Bello, pax

To HUGHE CHOLMELEY Esquier.

The helmet stronge, that did the head defende,
Beholde, for hyve, the bees in quiet serv'd:
And when that warres, with bloodie bloes, had ende.
They, hony wroughte, where souldiour was preserv'd:
Which doth declare, the blessed fruites of peace,
How sweete shee is, when mortall warres doe cease.
