On Eros and Anteros
Who fashioned a winged Love and set him opposite winged Love?
Nemesis, taking vengeance on the bow with the bow, that he may
suffer what he did; and he, the bold boy never daunted before, is
crying as he tastes the bitter arrows, and thrice he spits in the
deep folds of his bosom! Oh, most marvellous! One shall burn
fire with fire, Love has touched Love to the quick.
