Memorial University Aikido Club

"The secrets of Aikido are found in the basics. It is not for correcting others; it is for correcting your own mind."
Morihei Ueshiba, Founder of Aikido

MUN Aikido is the representative of the Canadian Aikido Federation in St. John's, Newfoundland. We have been teaching Aikido for 40 years and welcome all who are interested in this modern Japanese martial art to come and train with us.

Our membership is drawn not only from Memorial University but also the wider St. John's and north-east Avalon community. We have classes for a wide range of ages: apart from our regular adult classes we also offer classes for children and seniors.

Our practice is in the tradition Yukio Kawahara, Shihan (8th dan).

Please check out the links at the top of the page for further information about our practice or feel free to
email us for further information.
