The Institutional Animal Care Committee (IACC) meet on the third (3rd) Thursday of each month. If for some unforeseen reason the committee cannot meet on the scheduled date the meeting is usually rescheduled to the following Thursday.
The deadline for protocol submissions is (Tuesday) seven (7) working days prior to the IACC meeting date, (Thursday) of the following week.
The IACC suspends meetings for “Summer Recess” during the months of July and August. In the case of an emergency during that time the protocol(s) are distributed to the IACC members by e-mail. The approval process during the Summer Recess may take long as many members of the IACC are not readily available. To get the protocol approved there must be a quorum.
