Northern Education

{Photo Caption}

In 2002, the Faculty of Education celebrated its largest complement ever of graduating students from the native and northern teacher education programs. Twelve students graduated with the teacher education diploma program in Labrador and two students will graduate with a bachelor of education (native and northern) degree. These two programs are designed to produce teachers from, and for, Native communities in Labrador. Inuit students from Goose Bay, North West River, and the coastal communities of Nain, Hopedale, Postville, Makkovik and Rigolet, and Innu students from Davis Inlet and Sheshashui, participated in the diploma and degree programs.
