Unplanned Crowd
Planes crowd the tarmac at St. John's airport after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks closed all air traffic in the United States. Thousands of travellers took refuge in homes and public buildings across the province, including about 500 people who stayed at Memorial University for almost a week.
