Day of German Unity
Faculty, staff and students from the Department of German and Russian celebrated Tag der deutschen Einheit, day of German unity. While the Berlin Wall fell on Nov. 9, 1989, it took a while to work out the terms of reunification. Therefore, Oct. 3 was chosen as the official day of reunification, and the department celebrated the 10th anniversary of the reunification of East and West Germany that day. Here, Dr. Ursula Sampath shows off her Brandenburg Gate cake with student Antoinette Fekete.
